Free Webinar: TSI Revision Package 2023 - Key Changes (Part I - Rolling stock and CCS)
ERA: Josef Doppelbauer, Antoine Defossez, Oscar Martos, Juan Hernandez Fernandez
The TSI package 2023 was adopted by the Railway Interoperability and Safety Committee on 30 March 2023. It is now under translation and will be published and will enter into force during the summer 2023. That package includes amendments to the TSIs ENE, INF, LOC&PAS, NOI, OPE, PRM and WAG and a recast of the TSI CCS. The Register of Infrastructure RINF and the Register of Authorised Types of Vehicles ERATV are amended too.
It is expected to bring several advantages for the European railway, through cost reduction and better visibility for companies in the sector, in particular train manufacturers, infrastructure managers and railway undertakings operating in the European Union. The implementation of the TSI package 2023 should make it possible to simplify the authorization procedures for rolling stock, in particular for passenger coaches, to deploy ERTMS on board for, among other things, the automated train operation up to grade of automation 2. This will reduce costs for the rail sector across Europe, making rail more efficient, safer, more competitive with other modes of transport and therefore fostering better its contribution for decarbonising the economy.
Some of the key TSI changes applicable to vehicles will be presented in this webinar, in particular:
The presentations will cover half the duration of the webinar, giving to participants the opportunity to ask questions on the topics of the webinar. Depending on the number of questions we will receive, this webinar may even run a little bit longer than initially planned (up until 1.30, not more), so we have time to reply to the greatest number of questions possible.
A second webinar dedicated to the key changes of the TSI Package Revision 2023 (Fixed Installations and OPE) will be organised on 6 July, 12.00-13.00 (Paris Time, CEST - UTC+2).
As usual, you will be able to participate by selecting the link ‘Join the webinar’ below (no registration needed). The link will be active a few hours before the start of the webinar broadcast.
You may ask questions using the Q&A function that will be available during the broadcast. The questions are moderated. The webinar will be recorded and made available on our YouTube Channel after the broadcasting.
