Engineer in Ergonomics and Human Factors

Yanna CARLI is an engineer working in the field of ergonomics and human factors. Having completed a mechanical engineering course at the University of Technology of Compiègne (France), she graduated from a master in Ergonomics and Human Factors at Loughborough University (UK). She started her career at Railenium in 2022 where she got the opportunity to work on a range of rail projects integrating HOF and ergonomics in a variety of ways (human reliability, user safety).

From human behaviour understanding to improved safety at Pedestrian Tracks Crossing (PTC) - With Elise Grison

The collaborative research project that will be exposed propose a renewed approach to safety based on cognitive ergonomics and biomechanical analyses. It develops and tests new systems in real-life situation, using virtual reality technologies, to improve safety at pedestrian tracks crossing. These research efforts, completed with technical and economic ones, will give decision-makers well-sourced data to ground choice and open to implementation of more effective safety systems.

Railenium is the French Institute for Technological Research dedicated to the railway sector. It was founded in 2012 and supports the actors of the railway industry in the development of their innovations.  Research activities are organised into three domains: Human Behaviours and Railway Safety, Artificial Intelligence, and Energy and Assets Management.
