Vehicle Keeper Marking (VKM)

Alphabetic code, consisting of 2 to 5 letters. A VKM is inscribed on each rail vehicle, near the European Vehicle Number. The VKM identifies the Vehicle Keeper as registered in a National Vehicle Register. A VKM is unique and valid in all Member States and all countries that enter into an agreement that involves the application of the system of vehicle numbering and VKM as set out in this Decision.
