User Worked Level Crossings: A human factors problem!
Level crossings pose a safety risk to the railway and to users, particularly if they misuse and ignore safety measures in place. Following an accident at a user worked level crossing the Irish NIB made a safety recommendation. This presentation explains what was done in response to this by a joint working group comprised of experts from the Infrastructure Manager, Government officials with responsibility for roads and the CRR as NSA Ireland.
The Commission for Railway Regulation. The CRR is the National Safety Authority in Ireland charged with oversight of safety of heavy and light railway organisations operating in the State.
